Intervention
REACH neuropsychology provides clinical psychology and neuropsychological rehabilitation services for young people, to assist them in reaching their goals. The focus of this intervention work is to support the cognitive, behavioural and psychological difficulties associated with acquired brain injury and other related health conditions, as well as developmental neurodivergence (such as ADHD, Autism).
REACH neuropsychology provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a range of presenting issues, such as:
- anxiety and stress
- depression
- grief and adjustment
- anger management
- challenging behaviour
- social difficulties
- memory difficulties
- study problems
- attention and other related difficulties
Sometimes, the goals of intervention are informed through the neuropsychological assessment process. Support to implement recommendations and suggested strategies can be arranged.

Evidence based techniques are implemented in intervention, predominantly within a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) framework, also drawing on other techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Therapy is goal oriented and tailored to suit the individual needs of clients and their families.
Intervention process

For intervention services, the initial consultation usually runs for approximately 1.5 hours. This allows for sufficient time to gather detailed information about your situation and discuss the goals of intervention with you. Depending on the circumstances and age of the child or young person, this may be completed with a parent or guardian. To assist with the information gathering process, parent/guardian/s and/or young people may also be requested to complete some forms and questionnaires. A clear plan to address your concerns and goals will be offered at this initial interview.
Subsequent sessions typically last 50-60 minutes, although may run longer to suit individual needs as required. All intervention sessions are charged at the standard consultation hourly rate, as outlined in our Fees & Rebates page. As intervention continues, we will find ways to track your progress to ensure that things are moving in the right direction.
