Dr Valda Biezaitis

Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist, D Psych MAPS FCCN FCCLP

Dr Valda Biezaitis has over twenty-five years experience working clinically in the field of paediatric neuropsychology.

In her clinical practice, Valda focuses on providing support to children, adolescents and young people transitioning to adulthood, and their families.

Valda has expertise in providing comprehensive assessments and intervention for complex presentations with an emphasis on rehabilitation, supporting young people to reach their potential and achieve their goals. She enjoys working in partnership with families, schools and other professionals to assist her clients.

At REACH Neuropsychology, Valda is currently offering services for young people aged 6 to 25. She also supports families of younger children.

Experience and Training

After completing her doctoral thesis investigating information processing styles of children with autism spectrum disorders, Valda has held various clinical positions in both hospital and community settings, in both the public and private sector.

Throughout her career, Valda has focused on working with children and adolescents with acquired brain injury (ABI) and also has gained extensive experience with a range of neurological and other health conditions (including oncology and epilepsy), as well as neurodevelopmental disorders (including ADHD, Autism, ID), learning disabilities, behavioural difficulties and mental health conditions. More recently, Valda has taken a special interest in supporting gifted and talented young people and ‘twice exceptional’ (2e) learners. Importantly, Valda strives for a strengths-based, inclusive and neurodiverse affirming approach in supporting the young people she is working with.

Valda is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, endorsed in Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology, having completed extensive postgraduate training in both areas at the University of Queensland. She currently works part time for a public brain injury rehabilitation service as well as working privately providing clinical assessment and intervention services.

Valda remains committed to her own continuing professional development and also provides supervision support to colleagues and interns. She is involved in a range of hospital based projects aimed at improving services provided for the young people she is working with.
